Under the socially relevant projects category, all projects which are driven by a need to improve a public good, help address a societal problem which impacts a big part of the population, projects which help in reducing ecological impact etc are considered. These projects normally have a lifetime of a few years in which the project team plans to complete the project and hand it over to the local community or respective groups who would take it over and operate it successfully. Such projects have a budget which runs into multiple years and commitment from sponsors for a few years is sought for.

Agri / Horticulture Projects

Bhoomi foundation brings a heightened focus on developing farming and food production practised by our earlier generations successfully. Many such methods, tools and learnings had vanished in due course of time when the new generation refused to take up agriculture as an employment and with the predecessors failed to pass on these knowledge, before they were gone. Keeping this in mind, the foundation takes up projects to utilise the expertise of knowledge passed on to generations, in the agriculture practises and utilise these in new farming activities. As a part of this the foundation organises farmlands to engage farmers in cultivation, alongside equipping them with the technical aids undertaken by our patrons, which inturn gives them a chance to prove agriculture as the 'backbone of our society'.

Women and Weaker Sections Empowerment Projects

Numerous government initiatives have come forward to uplift the women and the weaker sections of the society from deepest distress to a better living standard. Bhoomi foundation pillars the projects that aids at empowering and enlightening women and weaker sections by training them to acquire new skills to find jobs or start new business to earn a living and to embolden them to a platform where they could voice their choices. Accordingly, various training programs, small business development activities, community knowledge sharing sessions, skill enhancement programs and motivational talks will be organised to inspire them to realise their real potential.

Consulting Support for Small Business Initiatives

The prime reason why many people hesitate to start their own small business is due to their ignorance about the requirements to establish a micro business and the lack of capital to invest in the same. In the modern digital era, many people are found to lack the basic knowledge about opportunities to begin businesses with digital tools and techniques which reduces the cost of operation and increases the reach and efficiency. Bhoomi foundation provides consultancy support to interested individuals in commencing micro businesses and thus promoting entrepreneurship which leads to a better economy.

Consulting Support for Social Development and Farmer Community Projects

Community Projects in social development and farming require mobilisation of a large number of like minded people with proper leadership and organisational skills for successful implementation of the same. Bhoomi foundation provides support in establishing community projects by assembling people who are interested in specific subjects that encourage them to handle sustainable Community projects. This will provide livelihood to the participants and assist them to enrich the society they live in. In association with this, Bhoomi is establishing “Farmers Clubs” at the grass root level which intends to respect and recognise the dignity of farmers, thereby boosting their self-esteem. For this the foundation organises farmlands to cultivate and markets to venture their products, which inturn gives them a chance to prove agriculture as the 'backbone of our society'. New technology assisted processes are deployed at these farms to improve the yield and reduce cost.

Waste Management Projects

This is an area that requires top priority in our society nowadays.The new use and throw consumer-culture has led to huge amounts of accumulated waste. Bhoomi is diligently working on a scientific waste management system which could help people to generate revenue out of waste. During covid emergencies, the waste management especially in the metro and urban areas has become a burning need. Bhoomi foundation has taken up project initiatives to address the same. The foundation highlights 'reuse and repurpose' to the peak level to reduce the threat caused to our planet. Bhoomi's vision is to accomplish Kerala as a 'Zero Waste Zone' state by implementing innovative ideas in waste management.
